Round House for Dogs (and people)

A family with their beautiful Alaskan malamute dogs decided to build a round house suitable for both. They really wanted to communicate with the dogs whether inside or outside. The 360 Villa has a continuous window in a circle around the house, allowing for 360º views.

Designed by architect Liong Lie of the firm 123DV, the house is tucked in the woods somewhere in The Netherlands.

The canopy offers the dogs shelter on rainy days and shade on sunny ones. A hill on one side provides eye level contact with the outdoor canines while working in the kitchem. It also offers some privacey from the street side.

The house has an open floorplan, like a hotel, with living, bed and bathrooms connected. A sliding hatch can separate bedroom from living room. The goal was to have as open a view as possible without completely losing all privacy.
