James Forward, Jake Mills, and Connor Cunningham met as college freshmen in Boston, and formed the trio’s first band, Waldo. Playing the Boston circuit and opening for The New Pornographers and Childish Gambino, honed their signature sound and won the Battle of the Bands at Tufts University.
Yes they have Cali roots but stayed in the Boston area after college. Their first release as Dang Clēts is the culmination of two years of living, playing, and recording together in their Somerville home. But their flair for the unpredictable makes this blissful and carefully crafted listen decidedly their own.
