Hail

Hail - Dark Waters

Although the song itself is pretty new; with the lyrics and melody only recently conceptualised, the imagery of Dark Waters has been with me for years.

For a long time, I would relax and listen to some of my favourite bands. In my trance state, I would be transported to a dark, purple lake where I would see a woman in a white flowing dress fall backwards into the water. I hadn't intended to write her story - I had intended for the story of the song to have a much more personal touch where I expressed my own emotions. However, as I wrote the story evolved and told the tale of the drowning woman.

Despite changing my intent, the lyrics still personally resonate with my emotions and I do feel a real connection to the world I created and brought to life.
